Fossil's Ultimate Worst 100 Players Countdown: #85 Keano

A spot of hit and giggle probably sums up events against newbies CSH, though we made good use of the available tune up for the fast approaching finals night.

A few milestones were reached or equalled - with blade, our highest score yet and a new batting Slap Honour of 49 from the Skip and some hacker he was carrying. In the field we matched our most wickets taken and Nachos moved alongside Richo atop the Slap Honour board, in a feat I doubted could be repeated of basically taking a wicket every other ball, with an impressive return of 8/-16.

The Fossil and Johnny love-fest continues, both interrupting shouting sweet nothings at each other in order to play their parts in the game, mostly. Brendan was the one jilted in this, a nonetheless frugal bowling effort dulled when decisions were turned down on particularly sharp work in the field and a fine piece of deception leading to a stumping.

Try as I continually do, one can't blame everything on Beasley. There were some doubts about his preparation this week, seen as he was hydrating with a Carlton Draught longneck prior to the game. However he was brutally quick at times while still jagging it about, taking 5 wickets (as did the Skipper it should be noted). He has, of course, also brought into the fold our latest Match Slapper. Having batted with his usual gusto, Rob went 0/12 in his first over - match figures of 3/-1 indicate the reversal. Who can forget the short-lived glee with which CSH celebrated the hitting of their first boundary ever only to have Rob throw down the stumps at the bowlers end for a run out.

Finally a mark of respect for the Pitchslap movement down Matto way this week, with inaugural Match Slapper Keano also becoming our first player named in Fossil's "Ultimate Worst 100 Players Countdown", coming in at a creditable Number 85. John would have to be at short odds for a shot at the Number 1 mantle.
