(fark, not again - double) Match Slapper: John

At Stumps Squad: Johnny & Richo

ICAA were out of the blocks early, Richo having sent them into the field. New opening combination Brendan and Jimmy had to muster 48 runs in fighting back from deep within negative territory to post an opening stand of 3. Jamie and Keano paired up again and slowly began to wrestle some control back off of H and his boys. The Skipper and yours truly applied sleeper hold tactics that went further in fermenting a little discord in their ranks. At 64 after 12 overs, the re-united John and Nachos would not have been questioned for plying a steady course to make certain of the hundred. However our glamour combination wouldn't be content with that - having harmlessly seen off H's liberal use of the head hunter the lads produced a withering close to set a highly competitive 139.

Nachos showed there's also a human side to indoor cricket divinity, finally going wicketless and taking a bit of a pasting - due in part to bowling to the batting power over. Having said that, the K6 alter is far from ruin when it's taken 12 games for his runs conceded to head into the positive. Again this week we had some V.V.S. moments in the field. Brendan, Jamie, Keano, the Skipper and my right foot were spectacular at times. Returns for the spin-twins belie the trouble they had the batting in at times. Jimmy (5/-11) used the power over to full effect while Richo (5/-7) troubled everyone bar when ensuring Fossil was awake. Keano produced his best bowling yet, dealing ICAA a pair of double plays in his final over on the way to an tremendous 6/-14. Having been strong in all departments it appeared Match Slapper John took umbrage with the sniff we gave them late in the game, a slight red-mist gave his final over an appealing shade.

Battle of the shirts next week, with new outfit "The Warriors" or such like. The selection table will be tense with disciplinary action pending and questions over trans-Tasman loyalty sure to feature.
